This morning when I turned on the radio they were playing a track that seemed appropriate for the current season – “Summer Holiday” by Cliff Richards. So, this is how it goes;
“We’re all going on a summer holiday
No more working for a week or two
Fun and laughter on our summer holiday
No more worries for me or you
For a week or two….
The question that popped into to my mind after hearing this song was, “How often do we all set out on a holiday that’s stress free?” Ofcourse, it’s nice to get away from all the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. But, with the opportunity to get away from it all, also comes the stress of having to pack it all to get away. And we all know what a nightmare that can be. Some of you might agree with me when I say this “ everything can’t be mapped before a journey and most often it is the sum total of all our experiences, the good mixed with the bad that makes a jouney worthwhile and interesting – the same applies to a holiday as well”. Ofcourse, we wish we could help you have a complete worry-free holiday experience similar to the lyrics of the song or if we had a list of all the do’s and dont’s that you could follow but unfortunately we can’t be of much help here. However, what we can do is make you aware of 3 product that we think you might not want to miss out on – trust me when I say, having them could make all the difference for a better holiday experience.
Wherever you may be headed, here are 3 items that are functional and fashionable, and could be included in your packing list right away.
The denim duffel bag – This is the bag that’s gonna get you from one place to another with all your stuff intact. When you’re out on the road the entire day, you want to be able to store all your gadgets and stuff in a safe and easily accessible place. What’s better than having it on you and in a denim bag that is stylish, yet comfortable against your body.
The white sun cap – A neutral colour that works well with all things casual. It’s the best way to keep the sun out of your face so you can spend many more hours on the road exploring. Also, if you haven’t thought of this, it’s easy to fold and stuff into your pocket when not required.
The coloured plimsoll – Avoid wearing trainers on your holiday as you dont want to feel like a fish out of water. Opt for a coloured plimsoll instead. You want to be wearing footwear that your comfortable in, yet fashionable and doesn’t necessarily scream “I’m a tourist”. The bright colours will add a carefree attitude to your look which is great for a holiday vibe. You could be wearing them anywhwere, from a shopping mall, to an art gallery, or even simply walking down a street while taking in the sights and sounds of the places around you.
Including these items in your packing list or opting for alternate pieces would entirely depend on your situation and choice. After all, not all holidays are the same and neither is your personal style.
