For our AW’15 lookbook, we headed to the city of Madrid, where the architecture and outdoors became the backdrop of our photo shoot. We spent a day scouting locations for our photoshoots. Follow me as I take you through it.
Pitstop 1 at 8:30 am: @ CASON DEL BUEN RETIRO, C/Felipe IV, part of the famous Museo del Prado which is now used as a centre for art research, housing the Prado’s library. Our first stop for the day was at the west facade of this building. It’s quiet streets, inspiringly large stone structures and a plethora of textures around the area was to soon be reflected in our AW’15 Lookbook.
Pitstop 2 at 12:00 pm: @ Plaza de la Armería, PALACIO REAL, C/Bailén. Open spaces, monumental presence and classical French architecture meets clean lines and a contemporary take on classic styles from our AW’15 Collection – a perfect backdrop to juxtapose classic with contemporary.
Pitstop 3 at 2:30 pm: @ The Buen Retiro Park (Spanish: Parque del Buen Retiro or El Retiro) also known as the “Park of the Pleasant Retreat” was a great place to kick off our shoes and relax despite the soaring mid day temperatures. The beautiful Rosaleda del Retiro rose garden was to soon feature as a backdrop for one our AW’15 Collections.
Pitstop 4 at 6:30 pm: @ LA LATINA (famous área), C/ de la Cava Baja is know for its narrow streets and charming squares and is a great place to eat. The rich mix of colours on the street made it an obvious choice for us to shoot our festive collection here. Our last pitstop for the day and a great place to unwind. I just about managed to capture a few photographs while the restaurants still had’nt opened for business. I’ve been told that the place comes alive after 8:00 pm and continues till the wee hours of the morning.
We hope to share more of our travels and experiences of some of the most beautiful places around the world with you.
